February has been faith month – check out the sermons on the website! Many aspects of faith have stood out for me. Here are just a few thoughts

1 John 5v4 says ‘For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world – our faith.’

We have a measure of faith and that is sufficient for our whole lives with God. God knows exactly what we need and He provides it. We don’t have to keep on asking for it – we have it!

Faith is mixed with patience. The promises of God do not come immediately. The children of Israel were not transported directly to Canaan. Read Hebrews 6v11-12 and…’imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.’ When a seed falls to the ground it has to die before new life can begin. We wait patiently as the seed, unseen begins to sprout and grow. As we worship we know God is doing something unseen. Haven’t you ever looked back over time and thought how did God get me from there to here?

So we walk by faith, walking by the Word. It is baseing our judgements not on what we see but on the Bible. Allowing the Holy Spirit to convict us of the truth of God’s word. When we need answers we go to the word. We let the word examine us like a mirror. We are washed by the word. There is an action of God that changes us. Ephesians 5v26
