This month was a time of receiving new friends and reuniting with old ones.
Werner Lourens, a recent graduate of Miracle Bible College Cape Town, came to visit us from South Africa. He came to help us with leaflet distribution and share in the meetings. He also had an ulterior motive. He is the boyfriend of one of our Church members, Katie. He proved a great blessing to us during his stay. We rejoiced with them when they announced their engagement on Boxing Day. We pray they will really have a lot of happiness as they seek God together for their future.
Although this was to be the first Christmas without our daughter Jenny, the visitors who came to stay really made it feel like a family gathering. Mary, our Lebanese lodger, was joined by Dinah, our Chinese new convert and Werner. Although Werner left for lunch breakfast was a truly international feast.
The Christmas Day service was special. We simply worshipped as the Spirit led and then prayed and prophesied over each other.
New Year we made our way as a Church to stay over in Halifax to enjoy the evening and New Year's Day . It was very special. From the moment we shared it was like extended family coming together. The fun part of the evening included: poetry, songs, stories and synchronised swimming (you needed to be there)
We prayed in the New Year and shared prophecies. Werner gave a short word which fitted in very well. Sunday morning we met for a great time of worship and a word from Pastor Duncan, one of the Halifax leaders.
After the main service Dinah, our newest convert, gave a testimony of how she came to Christ and we baptized her in the Church bath! A wonderful moment for us all.
Finally a meal at the Toby Carvery before we made the trip home to Birmingham.
A really eventful time.
